fleet foxes

"Fleet Foxes may have a firm grasp on rock and folk history, but they never play to their record collection," say Pitchfork magazine.

I'd guess that the Foxes, whose eponymous album has been played on repeat almost without stopping since I bought it yesterday, have a record collection that includes an awful lot of Crosby, Stills and Nash, as well as Neil Young and maybe the Steve Miller Band? Maybe some Nick Drake too, and, dare I say it, Fleetwood Mac (the earlier albums, obviously, not the MOR shit). All of whom are amongst my favourite artists. So, it was with great pleasure that I hit play on this one. It makes me think of forests, log cabins, ethereal dresses, cable knit socks, and other such lovely autumnal things.

My record reviewing skills are pretty dusty, so if you'd like to know more, go here.

I'm not a huge fan of this video, but I do love this song.
