These pictures are from one of my favourite fashion shoots, which featured in Italian or French Vogue last year. I'm not too sure why I love it so much, but I think it has something to do with the red balloon. The very cute shoot, by photographer Ellen von Unwerth, is inspired by a 1956 French short film called Le Ballon rouge. 
One of my favourite Sex and the City moments also involves red balloons - Mr Big turns up at Carrie's apartment on her birthday with a bunch of red balloons, and they drink champagne out of plastic glasses. Sigh, so romantic...
Oh and I can't forget to mention that great 80s song by Nena, 99 luftballons. Although apparently there's no mention of red balloons in the actual English translation - it's simply '99 balloons'.
