Two months ago I went to a fancy dress party as French schoolgirl Madeline. The best part of my outfit? A hired straw boater tied with a thick red ribbon. I loved it so much that I was tempted, oh so tempted, to 'forget' to return it. Alas, my goodie-two-shoes nature won out and I did give it back - but after seeing pictures from Marc Jacobs' show at New York Fashion Week, I wish I hadn't. How cute are his crushed straw boaters? 
I want one. That's all.
I shall end this post with the line that Ludwig Bemelmans always used to close his Madeline books: "That's all there is, there isn't any more."
