Joy Division are one of my very favourite bands. I find all the stories surrounding Ian Curtis and the Manchester scene fascinating and sad, and I adored Anton Corbijn's Control - in part because of the cinematography. Corbijn photographed Joy Division throughout their (shortlived) time in the spotlight, and his signature, raw, grainy aesthetic and breathtaking composition has had huge influence on rock photography. All translated to the film of course - just look at these stills! Sam Riley, who played Ian Curtis in the film featured in last season's Burberry campaign- he looks scarily similar to Curtis and he also played live in the film rather than using dubbing!
