new order

Nothing in this world can touch the music that I heard as I woke up this morning.
New Order - Dream Attack

Oh, hello. There's never been a cohesive 'Greatest' collection of New Order, but now there is. Like I love Joy Division, I love New Order. Well, it's a different kind of love. Sweeter, happier, less dark and jittery. More eloquent dance-y, less twitchy "I am Ian Curtis having a spazz" dance-y.

This is: a band that has been without a permanent frontman (Bernard Sumner or Peter Hook?), and a band with an overwhelming shadow on their career. So, the pure joy of songs like Temptation never cease to amaze me. I can listen to it a million times over without it feeling it sounds anything but brand new. Bizarre Love Triangle? Genius. Regret? Heartbreaking. Ceremony? Incredible. Epic. Orchestral. I even love 60MPH.
