stripes

Second photo from Turnedout.tv

Plaid and floral prints are set to become even more ubiquitous next winter. At NZ Fashion Week I thought I would literally scream if I saw any more plaid. From grunge to lumberjack to Scottish tartan: it was EVERYWHERE. Thanks Dolce & Gabbana! And as for florals, well, the girlish busy print just won't die.
All of this plaid action has simply reinforced my love for the classic stripe. It's so chic, so clean, so simple, so French. I'm surprised that I haven't already written about it on this blog before. If you took a look at my wardrobe, you would see over 15 stripey pieces: there's plenty of the classic striped T-shirt of course, but I also seem to have a penchant for striped jackets, like Karen Walker's monochrome Hi There blazer. One of my favourites is a red and white striped jacket by Luella for Target.

I prefer thin monochrome stripes, a la Petit Bateau below, but really, any stripe will do.
