Sweet toffee apples, the thrill of the ferris wheel, the dizzying carousel music, childlike screams of delight, balloons, flashing lights, massive circus tents, hundreds of amazing colours, candy floss... I wish everyday could be like a day at the funfair. Think of graduation day in Grease, or Vada winning a goldfish at the fair in My Girl. They have a seedier side of course (I vaguely remember R.L. Stine setting a few of his Goosebumps books at a creepy theme park), but I prefer to think of them as carefree places where fun and silliness beat out stress and worry. Add some pink candy floss, and what could be better?
