joaquin

Joaquin Phoenix's appearance on David Letterman has been doing the rounds today. If you haven't seen it, don't - it's pretty painful - he's bloated, beardy (although, I think that's kind of cute) and about to nod. To be honest, I don't see the big deal. If I was him, I wouldn't want to be famous and clean cut and interviewed in front of a live audience with a laugh track and glarey lights. I'd be petrified.

Apparently, it's all a ruse - he's making a documentary with brother in law Casey Affleck about his fledgeling rap career, and it's an art project. I can't tell - I'm not very good at telling when people are on drugs.

But, I really love Joaquin's acting, and beautiful eyes. I think he's intelligent and gorgeous, and the whole thing reminds me of when Vincent Gallo offered to be a prostitute for $1 million. It's ART. Right? At least, it is according to the Huffington Post.

I loved Joaquin as Johnny Cash in Walk The Line.

I loved Joaquin in Inventing the Abbotts.

I wonder if he will team up with Gallo in his Prince Vince guise and rap with him? I wonder what Phoenix's rap name is!?
