beige

Three's a trend, Zoe always says. Every day this week someone has started talking to me about about beige (bar, cafe, television). It has terrible, awful, bland connotations. It's the colour of nana's knickers. Of saggy, dead flesh or an undercooked pudding. Of boredom, of the dull, of wallpaper, bandages and monotony.

Done right, however, I think it can look rather nice. Less in an austere, early-90s Calvin Klein kind of way, more in a layered up, nude neutral way. With red lips.
