I adore the museum. Auckland Museum specifically, but any museum will do. It's the taxidermy, the elaborately recreated scenes, the attention to detail, the sense of stillness and wonder.
I like the butterflies immaculately laid out, all in a row.
The glazed-eye animals.
The flocks of hanging birds.
The lofty, vaulted ceilings.
The curious children.
And the dim light.
